Alexander Milosevic left Nottingham Forest by mutual consent after falling down the pecking order and could be followed out the exit door by Michael Hefele. But could Yohan Benalouane also have an uncertain future at the City Ground?
The 32-year-old hasn’t made a single appearance for Forest this season due to injury. Since joining from Leicester City in January, Benalouane has gone on to make 14 appearances in all competitions, the last of which came against Sheffield United on April 19.
With Joe Worrall, Michael Dawson, Tobias Figueiredo and Chema Rodriguez for competition, Benalouane has little chance of playing even when he’s fit. The Tunisian international had issues with discipline when he was on the pitch and isn’t a better defensive option than what Sabri Lamouchi already has.
Milosevic was fifth-choice in the pecking order which is why he’s been given a chance to search for first-team opportunities elsewhere, but Benalouane might find himself in a similar position. Whether Forest use the January transfer window to cash in remains to be seen, but it might be a worthwhile option.
