Was I the only one that spat their drink out when I first heard this news?
Because I will admit it take me by surprise so much that I nearly burst out laughing at the idea of it. Although I suppose if Edgar Davids can sign for Barnet, then I suppose it isn’t really out of the realms of possibility that this sort of deal could happen, even if it is a move up in the world rather than on the way down.
So according to a report in The Athletic, A.C. Milan are interested in bringing in Matty Cash during this transfer window, and have apparently already sent in a bid of £15m for his services.
The report later goes on to state that Forest are likely to reject any and all advances for his services, so this may be over before it has even begun, but it could sow the seeds for something to happen in the future, so watch this space.
And indeed the future is exactly what Nottingham Forest fans were thinking of when they heard the news come through, because it seemed they weren’t exactly against the idea of letting Cash go, just so long as it was on their terms.
How do we say no to 15m 🤔

£20 million in the summer to give us chance to re-invest. Providing we don’t go up anyway!

I get that fans want us to hold onto our homegrown lads but £15m would be great for the club. Bowen won’t be going for much more than that and he’s arguably the best player in the league… Granted, it all comes down to how well we reinvest that money should he be sold.

20M then yeah but if he is to go preferably in the summer nut so pleased for the lad that he is being looked at by such a big club

Interesting. Wouldn’t blame Cash for making the decision to leave but we should be pushing 20M+. He deserves every bit of interest he is getting, player of the season by a country mile for me.

And worth less if we don’t. Cash in when the time is right.

Is Matty Cash the best right-back in the Championship?
Yes
No
Do you agree with them?
