Nottingham Forest’s Matty Cash has no intention of pushing to leave the club during the summer transfer window, a report from Nottinghamshire Live has claimed.
The defender’s future has been the subject of much speculation since Forest’s failure to reach the play-offs at the end of last season and the start of the summer transfer window.
Sheffield United have reportedly seen a £10million offer for Cash rejected, while Southampton and West Ham have also been linked with moves for the versatile 23-year-old.
Recent reports from Football Insider had claimed that Cash will push for a transfer to the Premier League this summer, although this latest update from Nottinghamshire Live now says that this is not the case.
Instead, it is thought that Cash is looking forward to returning to training next week, and is keen to help the club make a fresh push for promotion to English football’s top-flight in the coming campaign.
Taking to Twitter to react to this latest update on Cash’s supposed desire to stay at The City Ground, a number of Forest fans appeared sceptical about those claims around the defender’s future.
Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say on the issue.
I hope this rings true

So apparently Matty Cash doesn’t want to go which is nice to hear he is my favourite player after all too but if an #EPL club comes in with a substantial bid that will all change and we may have to sell for FFP reasons too so I’m by no means at ease until window shuts! #nffc

Just because Cash says he wants to stay it doesn’t mean he won’t be sold. It’s just a way of keeping on side with the fans, if the right offer comes in he’s a gonna ⭐️⭐️#NFFC

Before people start celebrating that Matty Cash wants to stay… just remember 20 million pounds and a 50k a week contract changes the landscape VERY quickly #NFFC

Cash might not want to leave but unfortunately, that means pretty much nothing if the money comes in for him 😭 #NFFC https://t.co/YPWaA4dWp1

I hope that’s genuine from Cash, and not a “help us push the fee, and we’ll let you go to the prem” job… #NFFC

It may not actually be Cash's choice about whether we er…cash in on him this summer…#nffc
