Looks like we’re celebrating twice this weekend.
Having secured three points against Barnsley on the weekend, there was yet more good news coming out of the club today as it was announced that Brennan Johnson has signed a new long-term deal at the City Ground.
The academy product has made a bit of an impact already this season, having made his debut in the first game of the season against West Brom and getting his first start in the League Cup victory over Derby County, and hopefully this new deal will see him get a lot more opportunities in the future.
Although, I think it’s fair to say that Nottingham Forest fans weren’t exactly sure how to take the news. Whilst there were some who thought this would be a sign of him staying long term, there were a couple who seemed to have money on their minds instead.
Congratualtions on being awarded with your rightful & well deserved long term contract Brennan with @NFFC #NFFC . I hope your growth continues & Sabri as well as all the other youth & first team staff continur to put their process & belief into making you 1 of our future stars.????????

Regardless whether he wants to move on not, getting him on a new deal is best all round, he gets more money now and when he moves and when he moves we get more dosh too

And seeing as the club only said ‘long-term’ rather than specifically telling us how long the contract was, it did leave a few Forest fans wondering just how long his stay at the City Ground is set to last.
How long is the contract?

Do we have to guess the length of is new contract then ???? I’ll have a shot at 4 years ????
