Report reveals if Nottingham Forest had a bid accepted for striker

|

Rumours on social media alleged that Nottingham Forest had a bid accepted for Napoli striker Carlos Vinicius, but Paul Taylor & Sarah Clapson of Nottinghamshire Live have revealed that the story isn’t true.

Vinicius has been linked with an £18m move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, but talk on social media suggested Forest had success with a bid between £7m and £9m. That’s now been quashed and the Reds are expected to turn their attentions elsewhere.

Forest are expected to sign a new striker this summer after the departures of Apostolos Vellios and Hillal Soudani, but the Reds don’t have the transfer budget to sign the Napoli man. It’s hard to see how a deal could ever be agreed, let alone why Vinicius would want to join Forest.

The Reds’ first acquisition was Sammy Ameobi on a free transfer from Bolton Wanderers and could set the tone on what to expect when it comes to making new signings this summer. Vinicius wouldn’t be on their radar and wouldn’t be interested to join a side in the second tier.

There’s likely to be more rumours flying around social media throughout the summer, but the Brazilian signing for Forest isn’t one that will come true.
