According to Grimsby Live, Nottingham Forest are interested in Funso Ojo. The Scunthorpe United midfielder has been in fine form of the last 18 months and finds increased interest in his services as a result. Forest are reportedly battling Derby County to procure his signature.

Ojo has made 23 League One appearances this season and is regarded highly by his club. Scunthorpe have no desire to sell the 27-year-old, but they may be persuaded to agree a deal that involves Ryan Yates. After impressing on loan last season, Scunthorpe are keen to re-sign the Forest youngster.

Yates has been short of playing time for Forest this season, spending the majority of the campaign with the u23s and making only two first-team appearances. He featured against Bury in the EFL Cup on August 14 and came off the bench against Reading in the Championship on January 12.

The 21-year-old has embarked upon loan moves to Barrow (August 26, 2016 – November 25, 2016), Shrewsbury Town (January 31, 2017 – May 31, 2017), Notts County (August 4, 2017 – January 10, 2018) and Scunny (January 11, 2018 – May 31, 2018).

Yates contributed three goals in 18 appearances for United and clearly impressed enough for them to return. A swap deal might be the ideal outcome for all parties, but it’s unknown if it would ever get off the ground.
