It’s always fun to make fun of your bitter rivals.

Doesn’t matter when, or for how long or even for why. Any chance you can get to laugh at them, you should take it, that’s kind of the point in having a rival, life would be boring without them. That’s exactly what Nottingham Forest fans had the opportunity to do last night.

Derby County are set to be investigated after the EFL found a few problems with them selling their stadium Pride Park to owner Mel Morris as a way of circumnavigating Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules. The investigation is being set up to work out whether or not Derby’s valuation of the ground was correct.

Now the FFP rules are incredibly complicated for someone like me, and the punishments haven’t exactly been consistent over the years. Birmingham City were handed a points deduction, whilst Q.P.R agreed ‘a settlement’ with the EFL over what should happen to them, so what could happen to Derby County if they are found guilty in this case is anybody’s guess.

However, there were a lot of Forest fans who were certainly looking forward to the Rams having their moment in the spotlight over their potential misdoings.
