They may not have played, but it seems as though Tuesday night was an enjoyable night of football for those associated with Nottingham Forest.
With Sabri Lamouchi’s side not in action against Swansea until Wednesday, much of the attention with regards to the battle for the Championship play-off places was on Cardiff as they took on Derby County.
It was a good night for the Bluebirds as well, as they secured a 2-1 win thanks to goals from Junior Hoilett and Lee Tomlin, further strengthening their grip on sixth place in the second-tier standings.
Should Forest be confident of winning promotion this season?YesNo |
That result also means that Forest are guaranteed to finish above Derby in the football pyramid for the first time in seven years, having not previously done so since 2013, with the Rams currently eight points behind Forest with just six left to play for.
Not surprisingly therefore, plenty of Forest fans were keen to revel in that success over their local rivals as they took to Twitter to react that result.
Here, we take a look at what some of those Forest supporters had to say.
So since they had the parade for drawing 1-1 with #nffc, #dcfc lost three in a row and now cannot mathematically catch us. And we’ve not exactly been dynamite either. Oh and they’re six off the play-offs with two to play, with terrible GD. Hope it was worth it, #dcfcfans https://t.co/2GNBB7vmHS
