There are some things in football that you just can’t measure.
You can measure goals, you can measure how fast a player has run, and for how long he ran. There’s one thing you can’t measure though and that’s determination. Now that I’ve finished sounding like some D-rate motivational speaker, let’s talk about Joe Lolley.
The reigning player of the season hasn’t exactly got off to the best of starts this term, with only two goals and one assist across seven appearances so far this campaign.
However, what he produced on Saturday might possibly end up going down as more crucial than a goal or an assist when the end of the season comes. With Forest ender heavy pressure from Swansea City and threatening to break through, Lolley flung himself in front of a shot from defender Jake Bidwell and blocked the effort before the ball was cleared to safety.
And my word did Nottingham Forest fans appreciate what he did, as they took to Twitter to praise the 27-year-old for his efforts. What a crucial moment not just in the game, but possibly the season as well.
Three others in close proximity too, busting a gut????
