Well, it looks like we can officially call an end to his time at the City Ground.
Although in fairness, you could really have called it over towards the end of last season given that his last game came in April, and with the surging popularity of his replacement Brice Samba, it was probably over a long time ago. Now though we can officially rubber stamp it.
The club confirmed today that Costel Pantilimon had left the club on loan until the end of the season, joining up with Cypriot side AC Omonia Nicosia. And whilst his contract at the City Ground doesn’t expire until the summer of 2021, when you take everything into consideration, it’s a pretty big indicator that he’s unlikely to play for the club again.
His departure gave the fans the opportunity to reflect on his time in West Bridgford, where he made 57 appearances in all competitions and kept 19 clean sheets, which is a pretty decent record, but it wasn’t enough to fully convince the whole fanbase to come together in support of him, as opinion on him remained relatively split.
Impressed me at times but leaked way too many goals. Good luck Costel

Good business – not up to the required standard.

No idea why he was dropped in the first place as I rate him but Samba has done so well so we can’t grumble. He needs game time so good move for all parties👍
