Some Nottingham Forest fans have been looking back on our superb comeback at Anfield as we drew 2-2 against Liverpool in 1990.
The game took place in the latter years of the Brian Clough era as we came from two goals down to leave Merseyside with a point.
Ronny Rosenthal and Steve McMahon had given the hosts the lead after just 15 minutes play and things looked bleak for us. However, a second-half fightback emerged as Steve Hodge and Nigel Jemson scored two fantastic goals to ensure that we shared the spoils.
Are Liverpool still considered one of our biggest rivals?
Yes
No
Clough’s side would go on to finish ninth in the table and we ended up retaining the League Cup after securing the trophy the previous season.
Because of this, supporters were pleased to watch back the highlights and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan could not believe that this game had been “removed from his memory”.
How has this game been removed from my memory??
