Nottingham Forest are interested in signing free-agent midfielder Jack Colback, a report from The Athletic has claimed.
Colback previously spent a year and a half on loan at Forest from Newcastle between January 2018 and June 2019, during which time he made 55 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring four goals.
The midfielder is now a free agent having left Newcastle following the expiration of his contract at St James’ Park at the end of last season.
Now it seems as though Forest could look to take advantage of that, with the latest reports claiming that Forest will look to bring Colback back to The City Ground in the next few weeks, as they look to mount a fresh push for promotion to the Premier League in the coming campaign.
Taking to Twitter to react to these latest reports, plenty of Forest fans were keen to discuss the prospect of a reunion with Colback next season.
Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say.
Hes Free for a reason,,he was good for us but surely theres better out there

Anyone who wouldn’t want colback obviously never watched him play for us. Covers every blade of grass, versatile & chips in with the odd goal.

Not moving forward then, typical Forest

Why are so many people against signing Jack colback. Was our second best player a couple seasons ago and would be better than all current dms we currently have #nffc

Tbh he was definitely better than what watson was, he was more consistent too and always a great tackler

Hasn’t played for a season. No other team has been linked with him – why? Massive wage demands. Was good in a poor team the other season. We also have a million CDMs and need creativity and energy, he doesn’t really offer either

I'd love Jack Colback back.
But it's going to be another player on ridiculous wages #nffc
