Yuri Ribeiro impressed as Nottingham Forest beat Luton Town 2-1 on Saturday. The 22-year-old started at left-back ahead of Jack Robinson and vindicated Sabri Lamouchi’s decision at Kenilworth Road. He was positive going forward, solid defensively when called upon and could keep his spot in the side for the remainder of the season.
Robinson sat on the bench until the 82nd minute and will have a difficult time getting into the starting lineup based on Saturday’s performance from Ribeiro. The Portuguese u21 international has played at fullback and on the wing for Forest, showcasing his dynamic dribbling and high levels of creativity, and it’s led to supporters lauding him on social media.
Fills me with so much joy that people now realise Jack Robinson was always so easy to replace. We’ve been playing an average, ball-playing CB at left back and heralding him as our saviour. Ribeiro is actually what we always needed #NFFC

Against Luton, Ribeiro played for 90 minutes, made 40 touches, completed 73.7% of his 23 passes, whipped in three crosses, created one chance, made three interceptions, completed one successful dribble, made one clearance and drew two fouls.
Should Yuri Ribeiro keep his place at left-back ahead of Jack Robinson?
Yes
No
The 22-year-old has made nine appearances in all competitions this season after waiting a month to make his Forest debut in the Championship – 1-0 win over Swansea City on September 14. He should keep his place against Derby county on Saturday.
