Well, the undefeated streak ‘in all competitions’ is over.
Let’s just hope this doesn’t start affecting our league form. Nottingham Forest were knocked out of the League Cup last night after suffering a convincing 5-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal.
Perhaps the Forest team were a little bit shaken up by the delay to kick-off because they certainly were under the cosh for the majority of the opening exchanges.
Just after the half-hour mark and the Forest defence was finally breached as young Gabriel Martinelli put the hosts in front after nodding in a Callum Chambers cross.
Had to come, can’t keep the ball for 5 sec.

Despite the barrage, the visitors managed to keep the score down to one at half time, leaving this Forest fan to feel rather optimistic about the Reds chances in the second half.
A bit like the Alamo, but we’re still in there with half a chance. Can we turn the tie around? #NFFC https://t.co/xsEiRNnW0K

Although if they wanted to make something happen, they were going to have to put a little bit more effort in. As these fans put it, there didn’t seem to be much desire to do so.
In fairness, Sir Brian wouldn’t have lasted in today’s football

That lack of desire would end up costing them as with twenty minutes to play, the hosts doubled their lead as Rob Holding got on the end of a corner.
Boring

Hideous defending from figuerido

Two very soon became three as Joe Willock struck to put the game beyond doubt.
Embarrassing! ????
— Henrik NFFC Johansen (@henjohansen1) September 24, 2019
There was still enough time for the hosts to pile on the goals as Reiss Nelson found the net with just over five minutes to go.
Who cares we put 4 past them last time ???? ????

It was a case of high-fives in injury time as Martinelli made it a brace and make the score 5-0.
Close game then lads

I think this tweet sums up the evening best.
Poor from #NFFC tonight. No ambition at all.
The only ones that have turned up are the fans.
