It’s a bit weird when a transfer like this happens.
To some extent you should really be surprised given that he’s been out of the picture for so long, but at the same time there’s a little bit of surprise in your mind that makes you think ‘wait, I thought we already got rid of him’.
Nottingham Forest yesterday confirmed that Claudio Yacob had been released from his contract at the City Ground, and it didn’t take him long to find a new club as he headed to Argentina to join Nacional.
And when the news came out, the response from Nottingham Forest fans seemed to be one of disappointment more than anything else. Having joined the club in the summer of 2019 he would only go on to make 17 appearances for the Reds in all competitions, and the fans were left with a sense that he didn’t really get the chance to show what he could offer.
Wasn’t given the chance he deserved

Never had a bad game for us. Bit of a waste really!

Another player who never really got a chance when he showed quite a bit when he played. Wish him the best.

Amazed he never featured more for us, but in Sabri we trust. #NFFC

Never been given much of a chance to prove himself. Good luck.

Can’t believe how poorly he’s been managed at Forest- I thought he definitely could have done a job for us. Good luck to him!

Should have become an important member. If he publishes an autobiography in the future, I really want to read what happened during this time …

Such an underrated player. All the very best Yacob.

How many more players will depart the City Ground this week?

1-3

But having worked under three different managers in his time, it was never going to be easy, so in that sense you can’t relay blame him, he just became a victim of circumstance more than anything else.
