Nottingham Forest face a potentially decisive game in their promotion campaign on Wednesday night, as they host Stoke at The City Ground in the final game of the regular Championship season.
Going into the match, Forest know that a draw or better will guarantee their play-off place this season, while their better goal difference than that of top-six rivals Cardiff or Swansea means they could be in a strong position to claim one of the two places still to be confirmed even with defeat.
Even so, having picked up just four wins from their last 16 league games, the pressure remains on the club to improve those results if they are to have any chance of securing a place in the Premier League next season.
One man who seems keen to try and lift the mood around the club heading into a crucial few weeks in their history, is John Bostock.
Should John Bostock have featured more for Forest this season?YesNo |
The midfielder, who has started just one league game for the club since joining on loan from Toulouse last summer, took to Twitter ahead of the Stoke game to stress the importance of the coming days to the club, while also expressing a desire for those at the club to remain united during such a crucial period.
Big week ahead. We started this together and we will finish this together #nffc pic.twitter.com/XyPahhtLPb

Responding to that post from Bostock, plenty of Forest fans were keen to pay tribute to the attitude of the midfielder, with many lamenting his lack of opportunities during his time at The City Ground.
Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say.
You should start bang on the managers door. With all the flair players we have why on Earth don’t we play attacking football. Attacking football will get us up

What a first class attitude from a player that sadly hasn’t had the game time, thought you were brill away at Middlesborough when you and carvalho came on all the best John B

Not wishing injuries to any player but I wish you would start Wed so that you can show how much you are needed in the playoffs. Would love to see you playing alongside Watson with Tiago pushed further forward.

Are you our player or on loan? Have you a clause which entitles you to a bonus based on game time ? As I can’t think of a reason why you’re not playing🤔🤨

Can’t question your commitment or professionalism whilst with us. Personally think you’re far better than the game time you’ve had. Hopefully more to come from you 👏🏼

And you should be starting, sir. Very neat and tidy player and who hasn’t had enough game time, IMO.
