With so many players coming in, some Forest fans are starting to get concerned that their squad is too big.
Well, luckily Forest fans’ prayers could soon be answered, although I don’t think in quite the manner they would have hoped, with 24-year-old Ben Osborn set to be on the way out. The Sun are reporting that Sheffield United have already made an offer of £3m for the Forest man.
Osborn is a utility player, and perhaps that’s the main reason he’s wanted by Blades boss Chris Wilder, who’ll be looking to add depth to his squad as he moves up to the Premier League, and buying one man who can play many positions can go along way to helping that.
Over the past year, Osborn has played in a number of positions including left midfield, left back, central midfield and attacking midfield. His natural position though, or at least the position he played most for the Reds was out wide, either as a left winger or left back, and that allowed him to chip in with two goals and six assists this past season.
Forest fans though, aren’t entirely sure whether or not the £3m reported is an adequate fee for him, and that caused a bit of a discussion amongst fans on Twitter. Some just argued over the fee, whilst a few others just stuck to whether or not he was good enough to be on the team regardless of how much someone was willing to pay for him.
Some #nffc fans baffle me…
Slate Osborn all season but moan about a potential move.
Say we need better & experienced players, then feel underwhelmed when we sign them.
Sign players nobody has heard of but because they came from Benfica they are quality!
Some absolute morons

For the large amount of NFFC numptys (including the guy who sits behind us) have a look at our win ratio with Benny in and out of the side. The guy makes space and creates chances not from his skill but from his work ethic and determination.
£3.5M – daylight robbery!! #NFFC— Antony Dear (@AntDear2010) July 9, 2019
£3m for Ben Osborn? A joke! A bid of £6m & I’d let him go. Like Sir Brian Clough once said “every player has got his price”. #nffc

All these ‘Osborn deserves a crack in the prem’ tweets ???? Based on what? Some goal he scored vs the sheep years back…he broke into our team in 2013/2014 and he’s not progressed one bit…if he came from Portugal you’d have hounded him out years ago! #NFFC

Ben Osborn’s best position is CM (maybe LM – deffo not LB) and there’s no way we should sell him! #NFFC

Thinking about it, wouldn’t be overly fussed to see Osborn go. Yes he’s versatile, jack of all trades but not a specialist of any position. Realistically how much game time will be get. Would wish him well, top pro, always gives his all and would be great if goes prem #nffc

If we was to sign a player from Benfica, that turned out to be as good as Ben Osborn, we’d be chuffed to bits. #NFFC

When I watch Ben Osborn on the ball sometimes and he looks like an 11 year old dribbling I just can’t excuse it #nffc
