Ben Brereton is unlikely to get much game time this season, and Aitor Karanka has hinted that the player could be allowed to leave on loan before the end of the month.

With Lewis Grabban and Daryl Murphy likely to be given the bulk of first-team games, the 19-year-old may need to leave in order to prevent his development from stalling.

Yesterday, I asked fans whether we should let Brereton move on loan, and the majority of you think we should:

I’m not as sure as some supporters. We would be just one injury away from being very light up front. Apostolos Vellios is still a member of the squad but the Greek forward could still move abroad before August 31st.

It’s a difficult one. For the player, a move would be most beneficial, especially if he isn’t even being picked for the matchday squad. However, I do feel there will be occasions this season where the manager will have to call on Ben to give us more options.
