Top of the tree Wolverhampton Wanderers increased their lead at the top of the Championship to 7 points, with a late goal from Neill Collins in the 1-0 win away at Doncaster Rovers. Defeat for Rovers, keeps them rooted to the bottom of the table, level on points with Charlton on 18.

It was a good day all round for Wolves, as closest rivals Brum got thumped 3-1 at home by Reading. That meant the Royals leapfrogged the Brummies to take 2nd spot in the table.

High flying and some might say, punching above their weight Burnley, continued their impressive season with a decent 2-1 victory at Bristol City. Cardiff beat Sheff Weds 2-0 and the Blunts maintained their place in the playoffs, with a 2-2 draw at home to Palace.

It was a tense day down at the bottom and no where more so than at St. Mary’s, where the Reds’ grabbed the points with two goals from Morgan and Garner. That win sees us just a point behind the Saints and safety in the table. The Sheep did us a favour for once in beating Watford 1-0 at Prideless, to keep the Hornets within grasp. The only downer on an otherwise good day for the Trickies, was Norwich winning 1-0 at home to Charlton, when a draw would have been the best result for us.

Boxing Day sees another crucial set of games and Forest have another ‘6 pointer,’ this time at home to basement boys Donny Rovers. A win for the Reds’, could see us jump out of the bottom 3 and hopefully begin to climb the table.
