I’m not sure what exactly to make of this news.
As we’ve seen in Germany, the idea of making the stands look as if they are filled to sort of counteract the lack of fans in grounds has started to gather a little bit of momentum around the world.
And not Nottingham Forest are the latest team to jump on the bandwagon as they announced yesterday that fans will be able to buy cardboard cutouts of themselves to put in the City Ground for the remainder of the season via Face Fan.
It’s a bit quirky, just a little bit of fun, but at the same time there’s something quite disturbing about the idea of having a stadium filled with silent ‘fans’, it’s just ever so creepy when you think about it.
Are you a fan of this idea the club are taking part in?
No
Yes
However, it seems as though plenty of Forest fans are very much taking the lighter side of this news, even if a few of them did take a pop at the club along the way?
Can’t believe I’m genuinely considering spending money on this…

Can I not just send a shirt to you to put on my seat? It’s new (but damaged from the washer) 😂 because no offence, £20 for a cardboard me to “watch” the game doesn’t really sit well with me considering you’ve got money from my sc already 🤔

One of the weirdest things I’ve ever seen as a Forest fan
I was tempted to get one, as a laugh, until I saw you have to pay even more if you want to keep it. You’d think they’d let you have it once they’re done with it.
Reading FC will probably keep this idea for future years.

Being as though I’ve already paid for my seat via season card just put a photo of me in my seat and we’ll call it quits

What about you? Do you like this idea and will you be taking part in it?
