Nottingham Forest enjoyed a 3-2 win over Stoke City on Friday and Samba Sow was one of many players to come away with praise. The 30-year-old has looked a brilliant acquisition since joining from Dynamo Moscow, and many supporters can’t believe Forest signed him for around £600k.
Sow has been a standout performance under Sabri Lamouchi and impressed against the Potters as Forest went top of the Championship table. As per WhoScored, he played a full 90 minutes, made 60 touches, won one aerial duel, completed 86.8% of his 36 passes and took one shot.

Alongside Ben Watson, the defensive-midfielder made seven tackles, blocked two shots, made two clearances, completed two dribbles and drew one foul. Sow was dominant in the middle of the park and is regarded by some fans as an early Player of the Season contender.
Sow has made nine appearances in all competitions for Forest. He missed the Reds’ Championship opener with West Bromwich Albion (August 3) and was an unused substitute against Charlton Athletic (August 21) but has racked up 511 minutes from 630.
Next up for the Reds are Blackburn Rovers on October 1.
