With Rafa Mir being ruled out of action for up two weeks, Nottingham Forest are short on attacking options. Sabri Lamouchi has Lewis Grabban and Sammy Ameobi at his disposal but no backup on the bench.

Tyler Walker would have been in contention had he not been loaned out to Lincoln City, but Lamouchi did recently reveal to Nottinghamshire Live that Forest can bring him back to the City Ground in January.

He said: “We have reflected on this, but unfortunately he can come back just in January, not before. It is good to see him doing well, of course. Tyler in Lincoln is doing well, so that is one example of the benefit of going on loan.”

As per Transfermarkt, Walker has been in fantastic form with the Imps, scoring and creating six goals in eight League One appearances this season, and would surely be useful to Sabri Lamouchi.

The Forest manager didn’t feel Walker was up to the level required to stay in August, but his form in the weeks that followed may have changed his mind.

Grabban has contributed five goals in seven appearances while no other striker in the squad has rippled the back of the net – Mir (four appearances, zero goals), Ameobi (seven appearances, zero goals).

Forest have enjoyed a bright start to the season, picking up 12 points from seven games, but they’ve only scored 10 times (1.42 goals-per-game). If Lamouchi is on the hunt for another centre-forward, Walker should be on his radar.
