Will Hoskins has had a torrid time since his arrival from Watford in January. After making only two appearances for the Reds, he was sidelined with a mysterious back injury.

It was widely thought that the injury would end his loan and potential move to the City Ground, but after playing 70 mins for the reserves he now says he’s ready to help the club in it’s push for the Championship.

Hoskins told the official site. ‘I feel ready to play first team football and hope to be involved at Tranmere. It felt good to be playing again because it has been a frustrating time for me. I was a little bit apprehensive beforehand, but my back felt fine.’

This is a much needed boost for us, but it does seem a bit early for him to be getting first team football again after spending the past two months on the sidelines. It’s great to have him back, but surely he needs more than the 70 mins on Wednesday night to be fit enough.
