Hillal Soudani posted an injury update on Twitter and some supporters are excited at the prospect of him returning before the season comes to a close. The 31-year-old has been out of action since November with a knee injury and was initially ruled out for the remainder of the campaign. Even Martin O’Neill said he’d be surprised to see Soudani back out on the pitch this season.
The Algerian international has made fantastic progress in his recovery, however, with his latest video showing him dribbling with the ball around cones. The training drill in Qatar is low intensity, but Soudani being able to jog around on grass is fantastic news. There’s no reason why he can’t be in a position to play in one of Forest’s last few games of the season if there are no setbacks in his recovery. Fans are certainly hopeful.
Can’t wait for the comeback #nffc

Soudani has made only eight appearances in all competitions for the Reds since joining from Dinamo Zagreb last summer. He’s scored two goals. The experienced forward’s last outing for Forest was against Burton Albion in the EFL Cup on October 30, 2018. He last played in the Championship six days earlier versus Bolton Wanderers and was an unused substitute against Leeds United on October 27.
