According to The Sun, Nottingham Forest are ‘in contention to sign’ Lewis Morgan who has been ‘told he can join another club’. The Celtic midfielder has been short of playing time this season and has attracted interest from the likes of Hull City, Hibernian and Aberdeen.

Brendan Rodgers wants to loan out the left-sided player before the January transfer window shuts, so movement is expected to be made in the coming days. His destination is unknown, however, which gives Forest a chance to procure his signature.

The Reds are overstocked with deep-lying midfielders (Ben Watson, Liam Bridcutt, Adlene Guedioura, Claudio Yacob, Jack Colback) and have Matty Cash, Joao Carvalho, Joe Lolley and Ben Osborn who can play on the wing or attacking-midfield.

Morgan can operate out wide and behind the striker, so he could bring some much-needed creativity to the side. The 22-year-old joined Celtic from St Mirren in January and has gone on to make 13 appearances in all competitions. With so many clubs keen on his signature, Forest have their work cut out in their attempts to bring Morgan to the City Ground.
