Lewis Grabban was praised by some Nottingham Forest supporters on social media after the role he played in the Reds’ winner against Swansea City on Saturday. With just minutes of normal time remaining, Grabban picked up the ball in his own half and ran the length of the pitch before setting up Alfa Semedo for a simple tap-in.

It was the fifth goal Grabban has scored or created this season and sealed a 1-0 away win for Forest. The Reds have now won three and drawn two of their last five Championship games and find themselves just one point adrift of the playoffs. Sabri Lamouchi admitted he needs to protect his striker, as Forest have been reliant on his goals this season.

The 31-year-old has had a hand in 50% of the Reds’ goals in the league while Sammy Ameobi (0 goals in 7 appearances) and Rafa Mir (0 goals in 4 appearances) have so far fired blanks. Albert Adomah (2 goals, 1 assist) and Joe Lolley (1 goal, 1 assist) have been chipping in, but Forest can’t afford to lose Grabban this season.

Next up for the Reds is Barnsley (home) on September 21.
