You hear that?

That’s the sound of the promotion bus finally starting to kick into gear as Forest secured their first victory in the league this season, comfortably dispatching of Birmingham City 3-0 at the City Ground. About time too, I’ve got high hopes for this team and I don’t want to have egg on my face at the end of the season.

The first goal of the afternoon came in fine fashion, as Joe Lolley fired in following a short free-kick from Ben Watson. And with Lolley being a Villa fan, I’m pretty sure this goal would have been all the sweeter.

They made it two before half-time through Lewis Grabban, a more clinical finish compared to his goal against Leeds United last week.

Then in the second half, a little bit of a collectors item, a goal for Michael Dawson as he was on hand to blast a header home off of Tiago Silva’s corner. Although, if you ask me 26 goals before today for a centre-back isn’t all that bad a record, it did however break a drought of almost 15 years since he last found the net for Forest.

A few chances came after that, but no more goals as Sabri Lamouchi tasted victory in the league for the first time as Forest boss and condemned the visitors to their first defeat of the league campaign, although these fans thought the score could have been a little more convincing.
