Very much playing the long game.

That appeared to be the message coming out of Nottingham Forest yesterday during the defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Whilst there was some talk coming out of the game surrounding the controversial VAR call in the first-half that could have ended up being a game-changer, there was some much more positive news regarding the team that Sabri Lamouchi put out.

As Nottingham Forest pointed out, there were five academy graduates in the starting line-up, with ten graduates in total in the matchday squad. And speaking after the match, the Forest boss was keen to stress just how much he appreciates the work that those underneath him are doing in getting these players up to scratch and setting the stage for Nottingham Forest in the future.

β€œAt Nottingham Forest, we have a good academy and very good young players. Gary Brazil, Chris Cohen and all the coaches at the academy, they have young, talented players.”

So when Gary Brazil himself took to Twitter to join in the congratulations to the players and the staff at the club, Reds fans couldn’t contain themselves as they heaped praise on the academy boss for his efforts.

Where should these talented youngsters spend the rest of the season?
