Three goals at home?
Looks like the youngsters have been paying attention to the senior side. Forest’s U23s kicked off their league campaign today with a comfortable 3-1 victory over their Queens Park Rangers counterparts. Two goals from Brennan Johnson either side of an Alex Mighten strike saw the reds cruise into a 3-0 lead, with Aramide Oteh getting a consolation for the visitors with under five minutes to go.
Before the game even kicked off, there was one name on the Forest team sheet that garnered quite a bit of attention. Liam Bridcutt was linked with a loan move away in the early stages of the summer, however nothing came of it in the end. Is he with the U23s in order to stay fit for that potential move away? Or is he simply there because there’s nowhere else for him to go.
Interesting that bridcutt is still in but no others are

What is Bridcutt doing with his career? Losing some of his best years, no doubt earning well but surely playing the game at a decent level should be more important. Will regret this in later years I think.

The other main talking point from the game concerned the man who scored a brace, 18-year-old Brennan Johnson. Having already made two appearances this season, against West Brom in the league and Fleetwood Town in the League Cup, fans were starting to wonder whether or not he’s likely to be given a more sustained run in the first team in the future.
With the gaffer at the game Johnson is really proving he’s an option up top for the first team squad with another goal filled run out for the U23s. Great to see #nffc

Fornah and Johnson have to be close to getting a shot now #nffc

Think he’ll be playing in first team by end of season

How’s Brennan Johnson not getting into the first team squad week in week out ????

The young man is a bit special. Surely he’s ready for a loan move if not a spot on the bench? Heard any rumours @Grantnffc1?
