Adlene Guedioura’s performance was heavily criticised by some supporters as Nottingham Forest fell to a 1-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers. The Reds have gone three games without a win in the Championship and were accused of not caring by Aitor Karanka after the match.

The Forest manager has come under fire himself, however, after starting Guedioura ahead of Claudio Yacob against QPR. Yacob had been in fine form alongside Jack Colback but found himself dropped for a more offensive player on Saturday – a decision that completely backfired.

Guedioura put in a miserable performance against Rangers, completing only 73% of his passes and failing to find a teammate from 11 of his 18 long balls. The 33-year-old gave away three fouls during the game too. He hit the woodwork with an effort from distance and did drive with the ball from deep at times, but supporters weren’t pleased with his overall showing.

The Algerian international has made 15 appearances in the Championship this season, featuring only twice under Aitor Karanka in the last six weeks. Yacob and Colback may renew acquaintances against Norwich City on December 26 as a result of Guedioura’s struggles.
