Nottingham Forest battled to a 1-0 victory over then table toppers Sheffield United last Saturday as we hosted them at the City Ground.
Lewis Grabban’s goal in the second half with just over 20 minutes remaining in the tight affair was enough to return all three points on the day and in a match with few real chances at goal, slightly more attempts equals a deserved win for many.
Another win that makes me believe in this team even more.
Very pleased for the players and our fans, thank you for your support! pic.twitter.com/Lotu6WS3CA

Especially following the EFL Cup defeat to Burton Albion, some Forest fans hadn’t been slow in airing their criticism of manager Aitor Karanka despite where we continue to sit in the Championship table, but the victory was exactly the kind of response the more patient fan had hoped for.
Taking to his own social media account to react to the game, Karanka’s short message went over extremely well with those who took the time to respond.

We battled for everything and won everything. Every 50 / 50 we went in to thinking we were gonna win it. Excellent work AK ????????????????

Carvalho class act could become one of the best players to ever wear the Garibaldi. Great team performance well done.

Karanka rightly still has plenty of backers and the win should quieten the sourceless speculation in the media about his departure, but it’s not unfair to say that improvements can’t still be made and that will undoubtedly be the aim.
