Jason Cummings is struggling for form during his season-long loan at Peterborough United and finds himself now struggling for playing time as a result. His Nottingham Forest future could be at risk next summer as the Reds will be monitoring his progress this campaign.
The 23-year-old joined the Posh over the summer and got his spell at the ABAX Stadium off to a perfect start with six goals and four assists in his first seven League One appearances. He’s failed to bag a goal since August, however, and no longer commands a starting place under Steve Evans.
Cummings has gone 12 league games without scoring for Peterborough and hasn’t started for nearly six weeks. Since then, the Scotland international has racked up just 67 minutes of football and finds himself behind the likes of Matt Godden and Ivan Toney in the pecking order.
Aitor Karanka loaned out Cummins to Rangers just days after being appointed Forest manager in January so he’s not had much of a look at the striker. Given the 23-year-old scored only one goal in 10 Premiership games for the Gers and was sent away to Peterborough just weeks after returning, his chances of a City Ground stay appear slim. Time will tell.
