According to the Mirror (h/t Nottingham Live), Hull City are interested in Ryan Yates who has found himself on the periphery this season. The 20-year-old signed a new deal with Forest over the summer after a loan spell at Scunthorpe, but his short-term future is uncertain. Yates has only made one appearance in all competitions under Aitor Karanka this season, turning out in the EFL Cup against Bury in mid-August.

While he continues to be left out of the first-team, clubs will be linked with his signature. Portsmouth are allegedly willing to rival Hull’s bid to sign Yates, so the midfielder might have a number of options to choose from if he does seek a temporary exit on loan. The midfielder has embarked upon four loan moves away from Forest already.

He played for National League side Barrow between August 2016 and November 2016, making 19 appearances in all competitions before a lengthy spell at League One Shrewsbury (January 2017 – May 2017) followed. He turned out 12 times for Town. Yates then spent half a season at League Two Notts County (August 2017 – January 2018) and made 29 appearances before his Scunthorpe switch last season.

Once again, Yates spent just half a season away on loan and made 18 appearances for the League One club.
