Yes folks, it’s that time of year again when you just know it’s January not only because of the stinking hangover you have, but more so because once again Forest are being linked with a move for home boy Leon Best.

The News of the World says he’s a target, but he only joined the Magpies last January from Coventry. He’s out of favour with the Prem club, hasn’t scored for them since joining and made his first appearance of the season as a sub for them today, in their 1-0 win over Wigan and he missed a sitter as well. No thanks Mr. Ashley, you can keep him along with Mr. Perch.

Another name once again being linked with a move to the City Ground, is Swansea City’s Darren Pratley. The subject of much speculation during the summer, is either heading here imminently, or will be moving to Prem boys Bolton. There are strong rumours suggesting we have it all sewn up, but I’m keeping my balls right off the block, having had them smashed to bits in August.

Depending on what paper you pick up, Kelvin Wilson is either off to Celtic next week, or he’s signed a pre contract agreement with them to sign at the end of the season. It does look as though he’s heading for the SPL and Celtic will get their man for around £500,000.

Sorting a replacement for the outgoing Wilson will be a priority and the two names doing the rounds are Matthew Kilgallon on loan to Middlesbrough and Danny Higginbotham at Stoke. Kilgallon has been missing for most of this season with a recurring back problem, so a move for him looks unlikely. Higginbotham made a rare start for Stoke yesterday and helped them to a 2-0 win over Everton.
