Would this change be one too far for Forest in clash with Arsenal? – Opinion

I know I said it was his last chance, however I may have been a little bit too hasty now I think about it.

The EFL Cup has been used recently as a chance for teams to rest players, and a team like Nottingham Forest are no exception. Having given a first start to 18-year-old Brennan Johnson in the second-round match against Derby County, it’s fair to say that Lamouchi hasn’t always gone with his strongest side in this competition, and could make a similar number of changes tomorrow night.

There is one particular position that I want to talk about when it comes to tomorrow night’s match with Arsenal and that’s the goalkeeper position.

I said a couple of weeks ago after his performance for Kosovo against England whilst on international duty, that Aro Muric had basically put the final nail into the coffin that is his career at the City Ground with his display that night. Given the response he got from the fans as well, I think it’s fair to say that he’s got to do a lot to get into the good books of a lot of Reds supporters.

However, I am a man who believes in giving people second chances, and even though Brice Samba has made an incredible start to life as Forest’s number one, keeping a number of clean sheets, it is important to make sure that the backup does get some minutes under his belt to keep him fresh in case we need him to step in for a longer period of time.

Given that Muric has been less than impressive during his time at the City Ground, is it worth us giving him another game to prove himself? Has he already blown his chance? Or do we stick with Brice Samba in the starting eleven and hope that he can keep us in the game enough to get a result?

What about you? Do you give him one more chance? Or do you stick with Samba?
