Forest striker Nathan Tyson has given both the club and fans a much needed boost, by declaring himself fit.

Tyson says his latest injury problems are over and hopes to be in contention for a bench place for the visit of Watford on Saturday.

Speaking to the Nottingham Evening Post, he said. ‘I am close to making a return. I could make an appearance tomorrow, which is very positive and I don’t think it will be a problem we will have to deal with throughout the course of the whole season. It is just something that happens sometimes. I am confident I can be fit for the rest of the season. Before this happened I was in the best shape that I have been in for a long time.

This has to be seen as good news for us, but a place in the starting line up for the Watford game would probably be too soon. He’s confident that this will be an end of what has been a dreadful time over the past two seasons’ and says this is a totally different injury to the one’s he’s had before. ‘This was a tear. It has nothing to do with my back this time. It is a new injury for me, it is not the old problem. You get tears all over your body as a footballer, it is just how significant the tears are.’

Hopefully he can now have a sustained run in the side and banish the ‘glass legs’ tag that he’s been unfortunately labelled with. Welcome back, Nathan.
