The Reds’ go in search of their first League win of the season with the visit of in form Watford to the City Ground.

The Hornets have had a decent start to the new campaign with an opening day draw away at Crystal Palace and a 1-0 home win against Charlton. The arrival of former Ram Grzegorz Rasiak on a season long loan deal, will be a much needed boost to them, as goalscoring is their main problem. A lack of funds for the Hertfordshire club means transfer activity this summer has been quiet to say the least.

Unfortunately for Forest fans, there will be no sign of former player Gareth Williams in the Watford side, as he’s been out for the last 14 months with serious knee problems. Former striker Will Hoskins could make the squad though and is now fully recovered from his mystery back problem.

Watford have yet to concede a goal this campaign and we are struggling in front of goal, so a result for the Reds’ looks unlikely. That said, Forest will be backed by a vocal home support and if Calderwood can find a partner for Earnshaw upfront, then we could get something from the game.

Famous people from Watford:

Elton John is their most famous Son and was a former benefactor of the club. Former Spice Girls Posh and Ginger hail from Hertfordshire, as does racing driver Lewis Hamilton. That Tory MP with the smackable face, Michael Portillo claims the place as home, as does Madonna’s old man, Guy Ritchie.

Vital Quotes:

Nottingham Forest Team News:

Forest are in the middle of what is now officially an injury crisis. No fewer than five first teamers are currently undergoing treatment. Tyson, Cole and Garner are all crocked, as is Paul Anderson and Lewis McGugan. Although Tyson and Cole resumed training this week, this game will probably come too soon for them to take part.

Player to watch: Guy Moussi

Guy Moussi. Good in the tackle and a good eye for a pass. He seems to make us tick and following a quiet game at Swansea, he’ll be chomping at the bit to get us that first win.

Watford Team News:

None available yet.

Player to watch: Grzegorz Rasiak

The former Southampton and former Sheep botherer will need watching, as he’s scored goals at every club he’s been at. He will get some stick from Reds’ fans, but he’s more than capable of hurting us. He bagged 18 goals in 41 starts for the Mutton Molesters and even got a couple against us.

Match Facts & Stats

The two sides have met 28 times in the League, with the Reds’ just edging it with the bragging rights. Forest have won 10, lost 8 and drawn 10 of the previous games.

Match Prediction:

Another tough call. I don’t know where our goals will come from if Little Earn plays on his own up front again. I’m going for an optimistic 1-1.
