Nottingham Forest cruised to a 3-1 win, with a hat trick of penalties for the Reds’ Grant Holt, in the first of three friendlies in Scotland. This was said to be the toughest of the three games the Reds would face, with games against Dunfermline and Motherwell to follow.

Forest put out as strong a side as they could considering their current injury problems, with Agogo and Clingan making welcome returns. Kilmarnock had the quality of want away striker Steven Naithsmith on show to busy the Reds defence, but it was his strike partner Nish who got Killie’s consolation goal.

Forest take on Dunfermline on Thursday, followed by Motherwell on Saturday.
