Sabri Lamouchi reveals when Alfa Semedo could return from injury

Ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Derby County, Sabri Lamouchi has confirmed that Alfa Semedo is ruled out of action but should be back in training next week, reports Nottinghamshire Live.

The 22-year-old has been sidelined with a hamstring injury for nearly two months, missing six Championship games for Nottingham Forest, but he’s made big strides in his recovery and should rereturn after the November international break.

Since joining on loan from Benfica, Semedo has made nine appearances in all competitions, eight of which have come in the league. The midfielder’s last outing came against Barnsley (September 21) and he’s been absent ever since. Ben Watson, Tiago Silva and Ryan Yates have deputised in his stead.

After welcoming Derby to the City Ground, Forest will have a two-week break before their next game – Bristol City (away) on November 23. Semedo could be in line to feature against the Robins if he’s back in training next week, but time will tell.

Lamouchi will be overstocked in midfield in the coming weeks. He could have Semedo, Sambo Sow, Watson, Silva, Yates and John Bostock at his disposal, but Sow, Semedo and Watson were the original partnership before injury struck.
