I suppose it’s going to matter what your definition of ‘official’ is, whether or not you think the deal is actually done.

For some of you, it might be a case of waiting for a picture of him holding up the Forest shirt/scarf before you consider the deal done, but I think this is probably as big an indicator you can get that we’ve sealed the deal.

Nottingham Forest appear to have completed our first deal of the summer transfer window, as Dale Taylor has made the move across the Irish Sea from Northern Irish side Linfield. His former side seemed to confirm the deal last night when they tweeted out a message wishing him luck with us.

Whilst the expectation is that he will join our academy It will be interesting to see if he stays there for the whole season.

Sabri Lamouchi hasn’t been scared to dip into the youth teams at times this past season, with Brennan Johnson making a splash in the early days, with Alex Mighten also getting a look in after the Championship restart, so it’s not impossible that we’ll see him at some point.

I’ve spoken before about how the club needs to start doing more with our young players and giving them some extra minutes here and there in the future, and with reports that the five substitutions rule is set to stay in place for next season, this will continue to give youngsters the chance to help out the senior team by giving them those vital minutes here and there.

What about you? What do you make of this deal?
