Joe Lolley has come in for criticism from supporters after Nottingham Forest’s 1-1 draw with Leeds United. The 26-year-old has featured in both Championship games for Forest this season but has yet to score or make an assist. Lolley contributed 22 goals in 46 league games in 2018/19, but he’s getting some flak from fans after making a slow start to the new campaign.

Sabri Lamouchi’s tactics have also been blamed for not getting the best of Lolley, as Matty Cash being at right wing-back is forcing Lolley to be more defensively-minded than before. Fans want to see him being given more freedom to get forward, and took to social media to express their thoughts.

Against Leeds, Lolley made 42 touches, completed 63.6% of his 22 passes, had one shot which was off target, made three long-range passes with 33% accuracy, whipped in two crosses without finding a teammate, made two tackles, failed to make an interception, made two clearances, failed to win an aerial duel, made two dribbles and was fouled on two occasions.

Forest next face Fleetwood Town in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, August 13.
