Joe Lolley has come in for criticism from supporters after Nottingham Forest’s 1-1 draw with Leeds United. The 26-year-old has featured in both Championship games for Forest this season but has yet to score or make an assist. Lolley contributed 22 goals in 46 league games in 2018/19, but he’s getting some flak from fans after making a slow start to the new campaign.
Sabri Lamouchi’s tactics have also been blamed for not getting the best of Lolley, as Matty Cash being at right wing-back is forcing Lolley to be more defensively-minded than before. Fans want to see him being given more freedom to get forward, and took to social media to express their thoughts.
Do you think Lolley not liking new role as been quiet last two games now maybe prefers being further back so can have good run at fullback? System change help him & Silva maybe 4-5-1 instead of 4-3-3

Lolley been instructed to protect Cash and fill the space more defensively. Not his natural game. When jenkinson gets at RB he will be back to more attacking role.

It was a very good defencive away performance, poor from Watson and Lolley but apart from them two all good, the subs changed the game, good management imo

cash was ok, lolley had to come back and cover him quite a lot tho which seems to be a problem as lolley is defending more than attacking

Lolley been poor so far. Needs to get his head up & pass the ball then move into space. Been very head down so far, has run into trouble & given ball away numerous times. Has great attributes but using them much too far from the goal at the moment. Hopefully a form/rhythm issue.

Lolley been poor first two games really need him to step up…our wingers aren’t offering much at the minute, Silva needs these to get more involved so he has someone to link with…#nffc

Is Lolley out of form? Or is he having to do too much protecting Cashy and being a marked man making him lose his attacking threat. Bring in Jenks perhaps and he will find form- or not. Thought Cashy did well #NFFC

Really deserves to start next league game. Think we will see him start Tuesday where he will hopefully seal his place for Saturday.
Lolley and Adomah been disappointing so far.
Tuesday will see players who will hopefully take there chance and push for a start next Sat. #nffc— DNOnMAZ9 (@DNOnMAZ9) August 11, 2019
Against Leeds, Lolley made 42 touches, completed 63.6% of his 22 passes, had one shot which was off target, made three long-range passes with 33% accuracy, whipped in two crosses without finding a teammate, made two tackles, failed to make an interception, made two clearances, failed to win an aerial duel, made two dribbles and was fouled on two occasions.
Forest next face Fleetwood Town in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, August 13.
