Honestly how long do you think that this unbeaten run can continue?

Long enough to challenge Brian Clough’s team? Well you never know. But back to the matter of last night.

I did say before the game that this was going to be a whole lot tougher than it was against Stoke last Friday, so for us to come out of this game with a draw is a pretty reasonable result.

What was particularly pleasing, much as it was on Friday, was the way we were able to bounce back. Despite going behind in rather fortuitous circumstances, we were able to get back into the game through a fine effort from Joe Lolley.

Speaking in the aftermath of the game, Sabri Lamouchi was quick to praise the efforts that the players showed in getting back into the game so quickly after going behind:

“I’m not surprised but I am extremely proud of the reaction from my players after going 1-0 down. It’s not easy to react that quickly, just a minute after they scored, so all credit to the players. Overall it is a good point here, in a tough stadium. There are two really positive things to come from tonight: the excellent point we have taken away from here and the reaction of the players to going 1-0 down.”

And this goes back to what I have been saying about being aggressive, and my final words in my preview last night, I’d rather try for three points and end up getting one than aim for one and end up getting none. Low and behold what happened last night, we were aggressive and despite going behind we showed enough fortitude to get back into the game.

If we can carry on this sort of play, then I see no reason why we can’t end up challenging for a top two spot at the end of the season. There is still a lot of football to be played, but if we carry on the way we have started, then we could be in for a very special season.

What about you? Were you happy with the way we played last night? Or do you think that there was still more to be coaxed out of the team and maybe get three points out of the game as well?
