Talk about spoiling the party.
Lewis Grabban celebrated his 50th appearance for Nottingham Forest last night. The forward has scored 21 goals in his time at the City Ground and is already off to somewhat of a blistering start this season, having scored five goals in the Reds’ first ten games this campaign.
He couldn’t cap off his landmark appearance with a goal, but that doesn’t mean he was out of the headlines completely, although I think it’s fair to say that he wasn’t in them for positive reasons.
There seemed to be two trains of thought coming out of last night’s game. There were those who thought that Grabban just looked slightly off the pace during the game and wasn’t as effective as he could be.
Is Grabban playing tonight ? #nffc

#NFFC Grabban just runs about the pitch like a lost little boy. He can’t read the game or anticipate the pass.

Grabban goes missing a lot in games

Poor performance today backs up my point on Grabban

Totally agree and we all know Lewis Grabban is our best forward but he needs a wee rest and should of been took off tonight

Whilst there were some who saw it as the perfect opportunity to call for the club to bring someone in to help the big man.
Not a bad point, can’t win them all especially away but some of our ball retention / decision making questionable at times. Really need another striker for something different and to give Grabban a rest sometimes but that’s just a random musing. #nffc

Not creating enough generally , grabban can’t play 46 league games need some options , but we simply don’t have any , still a good point #NFC’s

Tonight was a night we needed another quality centre forward to bring on. Grabban was getting no joy out of the two Blackburn centre halfs. Never a easy game at ewood park. Very rarely win there.

I’ve made my stance pretty clear on the issue, and I must say I agree with the latter group. Grabban can’t be asked to carry the load all season, so he’s going to need some help here and there.
