Matty Cash came away with the plaudits from supporters after Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 win over Brentford on Saturday. The 22-year-old has been in fantastic form this season despite playing as a makeshift right-back, and could keep Carl Jenkinson & Tendayi Darikwa out of the starting eleven when they return.

Against Brentford, Cash played a full 90 minutes made 65 touches, won two aerial duels, had one shot, whipped in three crosses, made four tackles, completed 72.4% of his 29 passes, made 10 clearances, blocked one shot and made two successful dribbles.

The Englishman has created seven chances, has won 15 aerial duels (68%), boasts a 58% dribble success rate, has blocked 19 shots/passes/crosses, made 38 clearances and has averaged a tackle or interception every 33 minutes.

He’s been one of Forest’s best and most consistent performers this season and is leading the side to an automatic promotion spot as things stand.
