What a horrendous week it has been for us.

A shocking run of results has seriously hampered our chances of automatic promotion, with a path to the Premier League looking more likely through the play-offs.

Friday’s 3-0 defeat against Millwall hurt. The defensive capitulation in the first half exposed our weaknesses and could not us in danger of missing out altogether. With this in mind, things could be a lot worse.

Will Forest beat Sheffield Wednesday?

Forest’s next opponents are Sheffield Wednesday next Saturday at Hillsborough. The Owls lost 5-0 to Brentford at the weekend and manager Garry Monk was furious, leaving his side with just one win from their last 10 Championship games, as per Fotmob.

Following the conclusion of the match, he said that he has “never been so embarrassed during a football match” and that the performance was “inexcusable”, quoted by the Nottingham Post. He added that his club have “a leadership problem despite the fact his boys train hard”.

So yes, our problems at Forest are minimal compared to our next opponents, which is an opportunity that we should be able to take full advantage of. With the way that the season is going, a return to the Premier League is a huge possibility and the first time in many years where we have had a serious chance of going up.

We are without a win in March having last won against Cardiff City at the end of February. Sure, bigger games are coming up against Bristol City and Fulham that will carry huge significance. But if there is any chance for us to get on track, it has to be against Monk’s struggling Owls.
