Loads of Nottingham Forest fans heaped praise on midfielder John Bostock despite his side’s 3-0 defeat to Millwall on Friday.
The 29-year-old came on a second-half substitute but could not prevent his side from falling to a disappointing loss at the City Ground. A first-half hat-trick from the Lions’ Matt Smith meant that the visitors moved closer to the play-off places, while Forest took a huge step backwards in their automatic promotion hunt. Despite the disappointment, fans were encouraged by the performance of one man.
Should John Bostock start more games?
Yes
No
Bostock came on in the second half and had an immediate impact on the game, halting Millwall’s attacking onslaught that we saw during the first period. During the 45 minutes he was on the pitch, he had two shots on target, completed three successful long balls and had a pass success rate of 92%, as per Sofascore.
As a result, supporters were delighted with Bostock’s showing and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that the Trinidadian “made everyone else look silly”, while another stated that he needs to start more games for Forest.
I’ll keep saying it until I’m blue in the face, for me you have to start games. Looked the part against Boro and again last night. Keep pushing, your chance will come.

Last two appearances you’ve been on point. Deserve more game time. Big role to play in the last push.
