Nottingham Forest suffered a 1-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday afternoon, with Aitor Karanka’s men failing to score for the third consecutive Championship game. The Reds threw away a good opportunity to move into the playoffs for Christmas and now find themselves three points adrift of a top-six place.

Lewis Grabban has struggled for goals during Forest’s slump in form and Joao Carvalho has underperformed in the final third of late too. The 21-year-old has failed to score a goal or make an assist in his last four Championship games and didn’t create a chance at all against QPR.

Carvalho has contributed nine goals in 23 league appearances since joining Forest from Benfica over the summer, but his poor form of late could see Aitor Karanka consider a change ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Carrow Road to face Norwich City.

Along with Joe Lolley, the Portuguese u21 international has been Forest’s chief creator in the midfield this season. The two players have shared 12 assists between them, but Forest’s goals have dried up of late which could see Lolley and Carvalho getting a lot of the blame.

So, should Karanka consider a reshuffle of his midfield for the Norwich clash?
