Don’t expect him to come back too soon.

With the transfer window now officially open, it will be interesting to see what kind of players Nottingham Forest will be able to attract, be they new faces, or players that we have seen before.

Speaking to Yorkshire Live recently, Huddersfield Town’s Head of Football operations Leigh Bromby explained that the new boss Carlos Corberan will be given the chance to assess the players at his disposal before deciding if they need to be sent out on loan or sold permanently.

That could of course open up the door for one man to return to the City Ground in the form of Adama Diakhaby.

Diakhaby joined the club on loan from the Yorkshire side in January, and went on to make 14 appearances for the Reds, primarily as a substitute, and failing to register either a goal or an assist in that time, and in general not really making that much of an impression when it came to the Forest fanbase, with many of them not too pleased with his performances across the year.

How much will Nottingham Forest spend this season?

Less than £15m

So with that in mind, I really do hope that he either does impress the new head coach at Huddersfield and keeps his job, or if he is offered to us at the end of the assessment phase that we politely decline the offer and move on from him.

We’ve got a very good core of players to work with at the moment, and we should be looking to add some quality to it if we are to be challenging near the top of the table again next season, and sadly Diakhaby just didn’t offer it.

What about you? Would you want to see Diakhaby back at the club?
