New Nottingham Forest manager Colin Calderwood has today appointed Dave Watson as their new goalkeeping coach.

Dave Watson had been working on a part-time basis for new Forest boss Colin Calderwood during his spell in charge of Northampton Town.

The 32 year old replaces Andy Beasley at The City Ground who had been brought to the club under Paul Hart’s spell as manager.

Dave Watson played for his home-town club Barnsley and played five times for England at Under 21 level until a knee injury forced him to retire prematurely from the game.

Dave Watson has become the second member of Calderwood’s coaching staff at Northampton to follow the former Scottish international across the Midlands to The City Ground.

David Kerslake, who was Calderwood’s reserve team manager, has also joined the backroom team at Forest.

All now that needs to be decided is the futures of Frank Barlow and Ian ‘Charlie’ McParland who had been rumoured with the Nott’s County job over the summer.
